Refunds

Use Moneybag refund tools to issue and track full or partial refunds, then reconcile each refund against the original transaction and refund ID.

Refund Options

  • Full refund, when supported by the payment method and transaction status.
  • Partial refund, when supported by the payment method and transaction status.
  • Multiple partial refunds, if supported by the payment method and Moneybag account configuration.

How to Issue a Refund

  • Locate the transaction in the dashboard or API.
  • Confirm the refund amount, currency, and reason.
  • Submit the refund request.
  • Track the refund status and customer support notes.

Refund Statuses

  • Pending
  • Submitted
  • Succeeded
  • Failed
  • Reversed or canceled, if supported

Reconciliation Notes

Refunds reduce the available balance or settlement amount depending on the account configuration and payment method. Finance teams should match each refund to the original transaction ID, refund ID, amount, currency, and date.
